Mission Statement

Our slogan “Guiding Authors in the Classroom” proposes exactly what all dedicated, conscientious English/Language Arts teachers around the world do in their classrooms everyday and throughout the school year.  Our mission at ThinkWriteBook.com is to provide tools that teachers can use as interventions in assisting their students along the continuum of the writing process. 

Although the books and materials offered by ThinkWriteBook.com are primarily designed for use with and by English Language Learners (ELLs), it is our belief that struggling writers at middle and high school levels can truly benefit from these resources as well.  Our goals are:

• To provide tools with which English/Language Arts teachers can enhance their best practices in assisting students to develop and strengthen their academic vocabulary and writing skills, specifically composing, revising, editing, and critical thinking
• To increase ELL students’ and other struggling writers’ understanding and maturity in written expression, particularly through self- and peer-assessment strategies
• To promote students’ meta-linguistic awareness and their improved use of the conventions of writing, especially with regard to the challenges presented by the types of demand writing tasks found in various state-mandated standardized tests
• To encourage students, as they move along the continuum of the writing process, to demonstrate their mastery in producing sentence variety that reflects their linguistic maturity
